I bought my very first Solo Ad yesterday…
And I feel like a newbie again! Lol!
I made a complete numpty of myself by inadvertently questioning the prowess of the solo seller despite him having 150+ glowing reviews… Oops!
He could tell I was a newbie at it. It was painfully obvious to him. Doh!
But he was very nice about it.
And everybody’s got to start somewhere, right? 🙂
I’ve bought other types of traffic before, but I’ve always been a bit suspicious of Solo Ads because I’d heard bad things about people losing money or ending up with unresponsive leads on their list.
But plenty of my marketing friends and respected coaches I follow use them all the time.
So I realised that it was time to step out of my comfort zone, say no to fear and give it a try!
What is a Solo Ad, you may ask?
Well basically it’s buying “clicks” from other marketers.
You pay the seller for a certain number of “clicks” and they send an email to their list of subscribers with the link to your squeeze page or offer.
They keep sending their subscribers to your link until the agreed number of them have clicked the link.
So if you buy 200 clicks for 50c / click, you will pay $100 and should get 200 people (usually a few more with over-delivery) clicking on your link to visit your site.
Most people do this to build their list, so they are paying to get traffic (ie people) to their squeeze page…
If it’s a decent solo ad seller, with good testimonials and you’ve got a squeeze page that converts, then you should get 30%+ opt-ins to your list! Whoop! 😀
How do you ensure you don’t get ripped off?
Simple! You do some research.
First off, check the seller out at the following sites to ensure they’re not blacklisted:
- Solo Ads Shit List
- Solo Ads Blacklist
- Solo Ad Vendors Reviews Blacklist
- Solo Ads Testimonials Blacklist
So how do you find a good solo ad seller?
You can see live testimonials on both the website and the Facebook group.
Request to join it so that you can post your own testimonials after you’ve bought your Solo Ads.
Look for the following when you’re researching a seller:
- Good reviews (obviously!)
- Repeat customers
- 35%+ opt-in rate
- 75%+ tier 1 traffic – this means traffic from USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, which are proven to be the most responsive countries
- Sales are being made
- Over-delivery of clicks is nice too
If the seller has a website with testimonials even better!
Give yourself the best chance of getting a return on your investment… for an investment is what it is.
If you can spend $0.50 and make $1 per click back from the traffic, then that’s a good investment, right? You doubled your money! 🙂
My Solo Ad is due to run by tomorrow at the latest and I’m pretty excited 🙂
I bought 200 clicks, which is a small amount, but enough for a decent test of the funnel I’m sending it to…
Here’s to a great return on my investment! I’ll let you know what happens…
