7 Amazing FREE Tools to Turn You Into a Productivity Superhero

If you’ve ever gotten to the end of the day and wondered where the heck the time went, welcome to the club! You’re definitely not alone.

There are so many distractions these days, what with social media, mobile phones and approximately 3 billion great TV shows and movies to watch…

In fact, I’m thinking about Elden Ring right now. It’s a video game, and if you’ve never played it, count yourself lucky – it’s fiendishly difficult, probably beyond my mediocre gaming skills, and yet I’m totally obsessed with it! 🙈

But I digress. (Actually, that’s kind of the whole point of this article, isn’t it?)

Now, obviously you need a bit of self-discipline, so now that I’ve torn my mind away from the virtual gameplay in my head, here’s something that will actually help you…

Over the years I’ve found some ridiculously helpful FREE tools that can turn you into a productivity superhero faster than you can say, “How is it Friday again?” 😅

I’m talking about tools that save your brainpower, keep you laser-focused, and stop you from getting sucked into the digital abyss. And the best part? They won’t cost you a penny.

Here goes…

1. BITWARDEN 🔒

secure password manager

Bitwarden is like a vault for your brain 🧠

It stores all your passwords, so you never have to remember another ‘P@ssw0rd123!’ again (or worse, use the same one everywhere 😅).

💡 Just remember one master password, and Bitwarden does the rest – logging you in automatically and keeping everything ultra-secure.

It’s free, open-source, and works across all your devices.

Bonus: It also saves secure notes and credit card details. Handy when you’re making impulse purchases at 2 AM. 😅

Or maybe that’s not a good thing come to think about it…

2. EVERNOTE 📝

organised brain

I treat Evernote like my second brain – it’s just a teensy bit more organized 😅

💡 You can capture random ideas, save web clippings, jot down your next million-dollar business plan – and and it’s all searchable later.

Create notebooks, pin to-do lists, or even use it to draft your next viral Substack post.

It syncs across devices, so you can scribble down genius ideas on your phone and pick them up later on your laptop.

There’s even a web clipper! So you can save articles, recipes, or that bizarre (or not so bizarre) conspiracy theory you followed down a rabbit hole 👀🐇

3. TODOIST

do it do it do it

Todoist lets you quickly add tasks, schedule reminders, and colour-code your life like a productivity ninja.

And here’s a little tip that makes it REALLY cool:

👉 Link it to Gmail using Zapier, and you can turn emails into tasks with just one click.

No more using Gmail like a to-do list. It doesn’t work. You know it doesn’t 😅

You’ll feel a whole lot more organised – even if your desk is still covered in post-its like mine.

4. LEECHBLOCK / STAYFOCUSD

Leechblock is a Chrome / Firefox extension.

⛔ It blocks sites where you can waste your whole day if you’re not careful.

Specify the offending sites & they are blocked at the times you stipulate.

Leaving you to work peacefully away from distractions.

You can also use StayFocusd – but ⚠️ be careful with it!

It’s much stricter than Leechblock and you can end up locked out of email or social media for the day… 🙈

5. NEWSFEED ERADICATOR 📵

The secret to getting ahead is getting started

Newsfeed Eradicator is another browser extension.

It replaces your social media newsfeed with inspiring quotes 🤩

It works with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram & more. So instead of mindlessly scrolling, you’ll see something motivational. Genius, right?

6. ONETAB 📌

OneTab = focus mode ❤️

Use OneTab to keep tabs on your browser.

Or rather keep the tabs out of sight but ready for later 🙃

One click of the mouse sends all the tabs off to a URL list in OneTab.
You can send tabs to OneTab individually too.

No more having 60+ tabs open – you know, the ones you’re keeping “just in case”, but can never find again 😅

It’s the ultimate Focus Mode! 🔎

Saves a ton of computer memory as well, so your computer will thank you too!

7. RESCUETIME ⏱️

Install RescueTime & find out where all your time goes ⏱️

You’ll be shocked how much time you spend on email and social media! 😱

Set yourself productivity targets and see if you can beat them each day.

Yes, work can be fun! 😀

The free version (RescueTime Lite) is limited and not immediately obvious on the home page.

Here’s a step by step guide to help you get set up as a Lite user.
