So… this is my first post! Impressed? You should be! 🙂 It’s been a long time coming, but here I am…
You’ll have to forgive the less than optimal design, given the subject matter. I had an urge to get my first post out there. I promise that I’ll make something more snazzy very soon! If you’re reading this from the future, then you’re probably wondering what I’m on about. It’s a beautiful site you say! Well yes, it probably is now, thank you for noticing 🙂
I’ve been learning Internet Marketing for well over a year. Well have you seen how much there is to learn?! And I’m not getting any younger, LOL! Anyway I developed a severe case of Information Overload. For a long time, I didn’t know which direction to go in or what to learn about. Every new method caught my eye and seemed to be The Answer I was looking for. My head was fit to explode from all the new input that was rushing into my poor brain.
I became a massive victim of Shiny Object Syndrome, where I would buy into every new Internet Marketing method that came along, whether I knew what do do with it or not! My hard drive is full to bursting with stuff I’ve never used and probably never will. I even bought a couple of things twice because I forgot I already had them. And my credit card bill was never pretty at the end of the month.
Time marched on. I’d get to the end of every day and wonder what on Earth I’d acheived. Mostly, it was a big fat nothing. I thought my Internet Marketing career was doomed to failure. A few months ago I took control, got myself a mentor and things started to change. I devised a cunning plan and by and large I’ve stuck to it, though the timescale slipped a bit… Well, OK, it slipped a lot. Happy now? But the point is that I’m getting there.
It took a while to break free of the old patterns and I still get tempted with offers that hit my inbox, but I’m learning to restrict my purchases to ones that I can use now. The delete button has become my friend.
My advice to anyone wanting to jump start their online business is to make a plan and stick to it. Work the plan until you reach your goal and then make another one. Learn the basics of Internet Marketing and then learn the rest on the fly.
Believe me, when you start actually taking action (learning doesn’t count!), things really start to happen. Once I was free from Information Overload, I was able to see things more clearly. There was room in my head for business ideas and I’ve got my very first product coming out today 🙂
Not all my time learning Internet Marketing has been entirely wasted. I’ve picked up some useful information and tips along the way and that’s what I’ve shared in my very first product. I’m proud of what I’ve done and as the time ticks closer to launch time I’m actually quite excited. It may do well, it may not, but all I know is that I made it happen and I can do it again. And next time it will be even awesomerer! 🙂
